Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition has been officially revealed, addressing user feedback from the Z Fold6. The new version of the phone has a larger display, a slimmer profile, and an impressive 200MP main camera. Galaxy W25 is currently only available in South Korean markets, with potential availability only in China.

Qualcomm announced its latest mobile chip, Snapdragon 8 Elite, abandoning its expected Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 name to align with its computer chip brand. Built on TSMC’s 3nm process, this new chip improves power efficiency by 44% and boosts CPU performance by 45%. Improved ray tracing capabilities and 40% improved graphics performance are offered by the updated Adreno GPU. NPUs from Hexagon increase AI processing speed and efficiency by 45%.

Android’s Future: Huawei’s HarmonyOS Next
Huawei has released HarmonyOS Next, a completely in-house operating system. The new system is Huawei’s departure from Android. A Chinese-developed OS, it enables seamless integration between smartphones, smart homes, wearables and car interfaces. In China, Huawei has begun public beta testing a number of models including the Pura 70 series, Huawei Pocket 2, and the 2024 MatePad Pro 11. A global release is planned for early next year.
