After introducing the updated iPad mini earlier this month, Apple is now gearing up for a dedicated week of Mac announcements. Kicking off on Monday morning (West Coast time), Apple’s senior VP of marketing, Greg Joswiak, shared a teaser on Apple’s X blog, sparking anticipation for what’s to come. This lineup of announcements is expected to reveal some of Apple’s most awaited updates for its Mac devices, showcasing advancements and new hardware capabilities.
Expectations for M4-Powered Macs, Including Mac Mini and MacBook Pros
According to tech reporter Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, Apple is working on an M4-powered Mac mini that will be even smaller than its predecessor, potentially comparable in size to the Apple TV 4K. The upcoming MacBook Pros, available in 14-inch and 16-inch models, are also expected to adopt the M4 chip, expanding its use beyond the 2024 iPad Pro. Alongside these, Apple might introduce M4 Pro and M4 Max chips to provide users with various performance options, particularly on the MacBook Pro lineup.
Other Mac Models to Await 2024 Updates
While excitement surrounds the anticipated Mac mini and MacBook Pro updates, it seems certain Mac models will remain unchanged for now. Reports indicate that the MacBook Air, Mac Studio, and Mac Pro will not see updates in this upcoming round. Fans of these models will have to wait until next year to see what Apple has in store for its full lineup, as Apple focuses this week’s announcements solely on specific models within the Mac family.
